Walk into any LKF bar and you'll get the same menu: Mojito, Margarita, Long Island Iced Tea, Sex on the Beach. This isn't cocktail craft; it's cocktail cargo cult.
What makes a cocktail bar legit? Three things:
1. Ice matters. Cracked ice from a bag melts too fast, watering down your drink in ten minutes. Proper bars use clear, dense ice that chills without dilution.
2. Fresh citrus. If the bartender reaches for a sour mix from a gun, walk away. We juice our lemons and limes every morning.
3. Glassware. A coupe for a martini, a rocks glass for an old fashioned, a collins for a tom collins. The wrong glass ruins the nose, the temperature, the whole experience.
Our bar sits above the fray on D'Aguilar Street. We don't need to churn 200 covers a night, so we focus on balance. Our negroni is 1:1:1, not overdosed on campari to mask cheap vermouth.
